VACAVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

HOME OF THE BULLDOGS

                             Tuesday May 3, 2016

3rd Period PAWS

This week’s Senior of the Week, nominated by Mr. Knabe is Jarod Robinson because for four years he has made learning fun for those around him.

This week’s Student of the Week, nominated by Mrs. Hyland, is Sinjon Snyder.  Sinjon has impressed me with his ability to adjust to coming to a new school in the middle of the school year.

He is always polite and respectful toward students and staff.  He works hard to make sure he not only completes his work, but also makes sure he understands it completely.  If he struggles with an assignment, he seeks out opportunities to get help as needed.  He is a student who deserves recognition for all the hard work he puts forth.

The Visual Arts Student of the Week, nominated by Ms. Renzi, is Kamryn Patterson because she is a focused careful artist with every project.

The Female Athlete of the Week is senior goalkeeper Valerie Stewart. Valerie has shown great leadership throughout the year as a member of the Varsity girls soccer team at Vaca High.  She has been able to juggle her responsibilities as a member of the soccer team with her student council, link crew, and other extracurricular activities all while maintaining a GPA above a 4.0.  She recently has been accepted to UCLA where I know she will do great things.  She has unselfishly shared time at the goalkeeper position with fellow senior Sierra Wolfe without so much as one complaint.  She is truly a team player, and is my nomination for female athlete of the week.

In recognition of his leadership on the courts and in the classroom, Jarrod Jentgen is this week’s Male Athlete of the Week.  Jarrod’s grit and dedication to the tennis program are second to none and have been evident over a prolong period of time. He is a two time All League Doubles player, consistently brings a sense of purpose to competition and is magnanimous with his tennis expertise leading the team to a second place finish in 2016. Jarrod you will be missed.
