Happy Monday, Bulldogs! Tomorrow is our Final Picture Re-Take Day in the Little Theater. If you have not yet had your photo taken on our previous two picture days, expect to receive a pass between first and fourth period tomorrow. Dress to impress and wear your dazzling smile!

 

*ANNOUNCEMENTS*

If you did not receive your progress report in 1st period PAWS today, drop by the counseling office to pick it up!

 

PARKING WARNING!  Students: Be sure to park only in lined, designated parking places. This applies whether you’re in the main parking lot or behind the stadium.  Expect to receive a ticket if you fail to do so. This is your warning!

 

Juniors & Sophomores:  The PSAT is a practice test for the college entrance SAT test. This test is given at Vaca High only once a year. This year the test will be on Saturday, October 15th. The cost is $20. Checks made payable to VHS or cash will be accepted. Sign-up in the Counseling Office, before school, during lunch and after school. SIGN UP EARLY! –Loustaunau

 

Seniors and Juniors – The A.S.V.A.B.  (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be held on October 11th in the library from 8:00 – noon.  The test includes sections on mathematics, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mechanical comprehension, and electronics.  Sign up in the Library with Mrs. Torres.

 

The Solano County Student Poll Worker Program is looking to recruit students to work on November 8th for the Election.  Students will be paid for the training and for working the day of Election.  You must meet the following requirements in order to serve as a poll worker:  You must be 16 yrs of age on or before Election Day.  Be a U.S. citizen or will be a citizen at the time of the election for which you are serving as a member of a precinct board.  Be in good standing and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Deadline to turn in application is October 4th.  Please see Mrs. Torres in the Library for an application.

HOMECOMING WEEK 2016, Bulldogs!

Game day Friday! We are painting this school BLACK & ORANGE! See you at the football game with your most spirited Bulldog gear to support our Football team as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates!

 

The VHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday at 7:30pm! Tickets are on sale in room 52 for $7. At the door tickets are $8. This is NOT a dress up dance but the decorations are carnival! See you there!  

 

Calling all world travelers! If you have a picture of yourself on a trip from this summer, stop by Room 33 to sign up to be featured in the Yearbook’s new travel section. Sign-ups are only for this week, so make sure you stop by during lunch or after school to put your name on the list today!

Please take a few minutes to view the document. An acknowledgement form went home with your student and should be returned by September 22nd, 2016.

 

If you prefer a printed version of the notification, please indicate this on the acknowledgement form. A copy will be sent home

with your student.

  • Dress- Music Festival Monday- Go all out dressed from head to toe in your Coachella/Outside Lands/EDC gear, or wear your favorite band tee. We are celebrating the music today!
  • Lunch Time Activity- Live band  in the quad! Grab your lunch and head on over to listen to this amazing pair of student artists play your favorite songs!

 

Tuesday, September 20th

  • Dress- Class Dress Tuesday- Represent your class! Freshmen are superheros! Grab a towel, tie it around your shoulders and call it a cape or wear your full-blown Spiderman costume (no masks, please) from last Halloween! We're getting super! Sophomores are showing their athletic pride! Represent your favorite athletes by wearing jerseys or athletic gear; if you like to make the call, wear your striped referee gear, or simply wear an old uniform! Juniors, rifle through your parents' closet and find some Tacky Tourist gear! We're talking Tommy Bahama-looking Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, fanny packs, khaki pants, cameras strapped around your neck, sun hats and sun block on the nose! SENIORS- Hit Jo-Ann's Fabric's sale this weekend, or snag a sheet from your linen closet to make your TOGA!  Seniors are dressing like it's 500 B.C.!
  • Lunch Time Activity- Decades Trivia! Grab your friends and come to the quad to test your pop culture knowledge of the last 90 years!

 

Wednesday, September 21st

  • Dress- Dress yourself with your eyes closed this morning because it is Wacky Wednesday! From mis-matched socks to full-blown clothing tornado, you can be as Wacky as you would like!
  • Lunch Time Activity- Show off your wacky style in the quad with our Wacky Wednesday Fashion Show! Walk the catwalk yourself or cheer on your Wacky friends. We'll see you there!

 

Thursday, September 22nd

  • Dress- Float Dress! Freshmen, come decked out in your 80s gear! Sophomores, find that tye-dye shirt and fringed vest because you are traveling to the 60s , Juniors, raid your granny's closet to find some 40s attire, and Seniors, rock that James Dean, Sandra Dee 1950s wear!
  • Lunch Time Activity- We have a decades themed obstacle course going down in the main quad! Try your hand at the course or cheer on your friends!

 

Friday HOMECOMING GAME DAY!

  • Dress- Come to school decked out in ORANGE & BLACK! Any and all orange and black or bulldog spirit clothing will encourage our Football teams to take down the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight!
  • Lunch Time Activity- Music in the quad.
  • Mr. Bulldog Rally: Come enjoy watching your class representatives battle it out for the title of Vaca High’s 2016 Mr. Bulldog!
    • Freshmen are rooting for Chase Dombrowski!

    • Sophomores are cheering for Luis Menjivar!

    • Juniors make noise for Cameron Mitchell!

    • Seniors get loud for Luke Kutz!

  • Homecoming Game v. Pittsburgh - JV starts at 5:15pm , Varsity starts at 7:30pm

 

Saturday HOMECOMING DANCE
