What is AVID?

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is an international organization dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and dreams of attending and being successful in college. Students are part of a daily class where they receive support in academic classes, as well as instruction in the essential skills required to be successful in college and beyond.

Students are often enrolled in AVID from the time they enter high school until the time they graduate. They travel with their teachers at Vacaville High School as they progress from grade to grade.

Currently, there are 8 classes of AVID students:

9th Graders: Ms. Jones & Mr. Wright

10th Graders: Mrs. Ferrante & Mrs. King

11th Graders: Mrs. Gordon & Mr. Lee

12th Graders: Mrs. Farina and Mr. Morgan

For more information, please email our AVID Coordinator, Ana Farina at AnaF@VacavilleUSD.org.
