Today in history… After ten years of construction and costs more than double the original estimate, the Suez Canal opened on November 17, 1869. Stretching 101 miles across Egypt‘s Isthmus of Suez, from Port Said in the north to Suez in the south, the waterway connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Indian Ocean.

Progress Reports will be handed out today during 4th period PAW’s.  If you do not receive yours come by the counseling office at lunch or after school to pick it up.  Mrs. Loustaunau

 

Athletes of all Winter Sports – Come to the front office before school, at lunch, or after school, with your student ID card, to get your Athlete Sticker.  This sticker gets you free admission to all, non-play-off, home games and matches for the Winter Sports Season. -Thomas

Healthy Kids Survey Logo
The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is the largest statewide survey of resiliency, protective factors, and risk behaviors in the nation. Students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11 will be participating in the California Healthy Kids Survey between November 27 - December 21, 2017.  Parent information and consent forms will be sent home in November.  Click here for more information.

Today in history… On November 16, 1889, the Oahu Railway and Land Company (OR&L) began operating on Hawai`i’s third largest island, Oahu. The brainchild of Massachusetts native Benjamin Franklin Dillingham, the railroad made it possible to move agricultural products from inland to port, stimulating the local economy and providing a valuable transportation route for decades.

Congratulations and thank you to Ms. Foster's 4th period class, who collected a whopping 238 non-perishable/canned food items for our local drive! A huge thank you to our Bulldog family who came together and contributed a great deal of food to those in need! –Sullivan

Parking Information for Students

All student drivers are required to complete the Parking Pass Request Form to park on campus for the 2017-2018 school year. Click on the link below and complete the form. Parking passes will be distributed after school at a time to be announced in the bulletin. After parking passes have been distributed, students will not be permitted to park on campus in the student lot without having a parking pass hung from the rear view mirror or displayed in clear view on the dashboard. Parking will continue to be first come, first serve; having the pass does not guarantee that you will get a parking spot.  Students are reminded that designated student parking is on the east side of campus in the main parking lot and near the stadium. Students are not permitted to park in visitor’s parking or on the west side of campus. Students can register up to 2 vehicles but will only receive one parking pass. Failure to comply with these regulations could mean the loss of driving/parking privileges at Vacaville High School.
